A new studio painting inspired by a recent hike through the Rae Lakes Loop in King's Canyon, California . I love reflecting on backpacking adventures and turning those memories into paintings. What I remember most about this scene was how the silver quality of the stormy atmosphere accentuated the early shifts of autumn color.
