“Two Girls on a Raft”” is a painting about the simple joy of a day at the beach. Here, the languid mood of lounging on a float in the clear blue water is interrupted by the anticipation of an oncoming swell. I was particularly attracted to the way the sunlight shone on the girl’s skin and the movement and light on the water’s surface.
