Winter Awakens

I am inspired by forests in winter when layers of branches and trees create textures and depth in the landscape. To convey these textures, I use layers of glazes with palette knife, shapers, rubber brayer and brush.
Expressive brushstrokes are used to show moving water that contrasts with the stillness of the snow. The subtle hints of color within the trees and sky add warmth to the predominantly cool palette, offering an inviting focal point that enriches the scene.
