"Early Morning Melody" was painted in oil on primed hardboard. I used an on the spot plein air study as well as photographs for reference when making the final 16x20 painting. Combining direct observation, layering of paint, and inspiration from master artists helped bring an extra dimension to this piece that made it come to life in a special way.
